Europe, Lausa and Monna launched this year&#8217;s Bearded Vulture Release Season on 6 May, and Buisson and C\u00e9vennes closed the project&#8217;s release season on 3 June. Unfortunately, two of the birds met tragic ends.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/4vultures.org\/es\/2019\/07\/24\/reintroduced-bearded-vulture-buisson-from-life-gypconnect-dies-due-to-electrocution\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Buisson died from electrocution<\/a>&nbsp;y&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/4vultures.org\/es\/2019-08-16-deadly-fall-of-bearded-vulture-monna-from-the-life-gypconnect-releases\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Monna from a deadly fall that is still under investigation<\/a>. The good news is that the other three birds seem to be doing well, are adapting in the wild, and are travelling further and further.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Updates from the three vultures released at the Grand Causses<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/4vultures.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image-1-29.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12225\" width=\"1042\" height=\"488\" srcset=\"https:\/\/4vultures.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image-1-29.jpg 670w, https:\/\/4vultures.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image-1-29-300x141.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1042px) 100vw, 1042px\" \/><figcaption>Lausa (c) Florian Durand<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The three birds Europe, Lausa and C\u00e9vennes are doing very well and make many flights every day&nbsp;and seem more and more confident. They even started travelling!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Europe<\/strong>&nbsp;has made an excursion in the Cantal and even went to Clermont-Ferrand and spent three nights there!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>C\u00e9vennes<\/strong>&nbsp;followed Europe during an excursion in Aveyron to the Cavalry, then went to Gorges du Tarn and Mende.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lausa<\/strong>&nbsp;travelled the from West to East, between Aubrac and Villefort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But these youngsters are not the only Bearded Vultures in the area.&nbsp;<strong>Adonis<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Layrou<\/strong>&nbsp;y&nbsp;<strong>Arcana<\/strong>&nbsp;also settled in the Grands Causses and often go to the Loz\u00e9rien release site, taking the opportunity to land and eat some of the food left for the three young vultures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Update 10\/09\/2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lausa<\/strong>&nbsp;made an excursion in Cantal and even went as far as Clermont-Ferrand and Limoges, then she returned to Cantal and spent a few days around Lioran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Europe<\/strong>&nbsp;joined Lausa during the week in Cantal after going to Genolhac.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile<strong>, C\u00e9vennes<\/strong>&nbsp;remained around the release site even though it is gradually epxloring more ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Adonis<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Layrou<\/strong>&nbsp;y&nbsp;<strong>Arcana<\/strong>&nbsp;keep visiting the release site and took the opportunity to land and feed on bones deposited for our three young.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>LIFE GYPCONNECT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"503\" height=\"386\" src=\"http:\/\/4vultures.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image-1-14.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12075\" srcset=\"https:\/\/4vultures.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image-1-14.jpg 503w, https:\/\/4vultures.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image-1-14-300x230.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 503px) 100vw, 503px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Led by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lpo.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">League pour la Protection des Oiseaux (LPO)<\/a>, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/4vultures.org\/es\/life-projects\/gypconnect\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">LIFE GYPCONNECT<\/a>\u00a0project aims to establish a breeding population of Bearded Vultures in the Massif Central and Department of the Dr\u00f4me. Releasing captive-bred Bearded Vultures into the wild at sites such as the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gypaetebarbu.fr\/life-gypconnect-en\/life-gypconnect-action-sites\/article\/grands-causses\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Parc Naturel R\u00e9gional des Grands Causses<\/a>,\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gypaetebarbu.fr\/life-gypconnect-en\/life-gypconnect-action-sites\/article\/les-baronnies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Parc Naturel R\u00e9gional des Baronnies Proven\u00e7ales<\/a>\u00a0y\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.parc-du-vercors.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Parc Naturel R\u00e9gional du Vercors<\/a>\u00a0will create a core population that will connect the two populations of the species in the Alps and Pyrenees.
