This collaboration will aid the conservation of the species in the country, which is vital for&nbsp;the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/4vultures.org\/es\/life-projects\/vultures-back-to-life\/\">Vultures Back to LIFE<\/a>&nbsp;project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Exchanging knowledge<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/4vultures.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image-10.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12228\" width=\"1029\" height=\"771\" srcset=\"https:\/\/4vultures.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image-10.png 670w, https:\/\/4vultures.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image-10-300x225.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1029px) 100vw, 1029px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>On 6 August, during an official event, the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/4vultures.org\/es\/2019\/08\/09\/two-cinereous-vultures-are-the-new-inhabitants-of-the-balkan-mountains-in-bulgaria\/\">Vultures Back to LIFE project released two Cinereous Vultures in Kotel<\/a>, Bulgaria. Right after, three of the guests, Matthieu Marc and Olivier Vercauteren from the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.zooplanckendael.be\/nl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Belgian zoo Planckendael<\/a>&nbsp;and Laurent Marc Simon from the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.parcdesoiseaux.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">French zoo Parc des Oiseaux<\/a>, visited the Green Balkans&#8217; Wildlife Rehabilitation and Breeding Centre to&nbsp;share their experience.&nbsp;Olivier and Laurent were&nbsp;keepers of the parental pairs of the two juvenile Cinereous Vultures that hacked in Kotel Balkan.&nbsp;Olivier has also been taking care of the foster parents of the chick from Parc des Oiseaux, which was significant for its survival.&nbsp;During their visit, the experts&nbsp;examined&nbsp;the release site, and they were also interested in learning more about the Center, specifically about the activities&nbsp;related to&nbsp;the Vultures Back to LIFE project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The experts examined the breeding cages and the incubation room, and they were especially impressed by the surveillance cameras, providing twenty-four-hour access to the vultures in the Center, as well as to the birds in the adaptation aviary in the Central Balkan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Contacts with international experts in breeding Cinereous Vultures are significant for Bulgaria and the Green Balkans&#8217; team, which is still gaining experience in rearing this rare species.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Vultures Back to LIFE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"520\" height=\"347\" src=\"http:\/\/4vultures.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image-2-13.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12092\" srcset=\"https:\/\/4vultures.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image-2-13.jpg 520w, https:\/\/4vultures.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image-2-13-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 520px) 100vw, 520px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Led by the wildlife conservation charity\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/greenbalkans.org\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Green Balkans<\/a>, with activities also implemented by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/fwff.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fund for Wild Flora and Fauna<\/a>, and bringing together partners from Bulgaria, Spain, Germany, and us here at the VCF,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/4vultures.org\/es\/life-projects\/vultures-back-to-life\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Vultures Back to LIFE<\/a>\u00a0aims to reintroduce the cinereous or Eurasian black vulture to Bulgaria.
