{"id":5916,"date":"2018-01-09T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2018-01-09T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4vultures.org\/blog\/bearded-vulture-collision-electricity-lines-drones-bird-markers\/"},"modified":"2018-01-09T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2018-01-09T00:00:00","slug":"bearded-vulture-collision-electricity-lines-drones-bird-markers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/4vultures.org\/es\/blog\/bearded-vulture-collision-electricity-lines-drones-bird-markers\/","title":{"rendered":"Video: Anti-collision markers put on a high-voltage line with a drone (LIFE GYPHELP)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> La <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gypaete-barbu.com\/10\/le-projet-life-gyphelp\/58\/pourquoi-ce-projet.html\" target=\"_top\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">LIFE GYPHELP<\/a> project, in which the VCF is a partner, focus on reducing the main threats to the populations of <a href=\"\/es\/vultures\/bearded-vulture\/\">bearded vultures<\/a> in the French alps, namely the collisions against cables, intoxication\/poisoning (particularly lead poisoning), and disturbance of the breeding sites by human activities.<\/p>\n<p> The Project, which started in the summer of 2014, is led by Asters (Conservatoire d\u2019Espaces Naturels de Haute-Savoie) and has as partners two national parks in the French Alps (Vanoise &amp; Mercantour), the Observatoire des Galliformes de Montagnes, the local hunting association (FDC74) and the VCF, and is funded by the EU LIFE programme.<\/p>\n<p> During the project, many ski lifts and electricity power lines are being fit with anti-collision systems. In 2015 an adult bearded vulture has been found dead in the region after it collided against a ski lift.<\/p>\n<p> One of the activities has been to pilot methods to put anti-collision markers in high-tension markers across steep valleys or canyons, where the traditional methods do not work or are very expensive.<\/p>\n<p> In late 2016 ENEDIS (the French grid manager) and the <a href=\"\/es\/life-projects\/gyphelp\/\">LIFE GYPHELP<\/a> team have worked to use drones to put fireflies \u2013 an anti-collision bird marker, in a 20,000-volt line above Tignes dam\u2013 a first for France.
