{"id":6517,"date":"2015-05-14T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2015-05-14T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4vultures.org\/blog\/young-bearded-vulture-still-in-northwest-germany\/"},"modified":"2015-05-14T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2015-05-14T00:00:00","slug":"young-bearded-vulture-still-in-northwest-germany","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/4vultures.org\/es\/blog\/young-bearded-vulture-still-in-northwest-germany\/","title":{"rendered":"Young bearded vulture still in Northwest Germany"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> The young bearded vulture which was observed last week in the Netherlands &#8211; see our news article <a href=\"https:\/\/4vultures.org\/es\/2015\/05\/05\/young-bearded-vulture-observed-in-the-netherlands\/\">here&gt;&gt;<\/a> was still in northern Germany the day before yesterday \u2013 the bird was observed at the island of Langeoog, on the German north sea coast, close to the Dutch border (see photos by Jan Weinbecker)<\/p>\n<p> Comparison of the moulting pattern confirmed that this is the same bird seen in Holland &#8211; an unringed bird, presumably of wild (alpine) origin.<\/p>\n<p> Bearded vultures can easily survive without food for a week or even longer and young birds do often disperse temporarily away from the mountains.
