Abstract submission

We invite all vulture conservation scientists and researchers to submit abstracts for the unique opportunity to share projects and research in the field of vulture biology, ecology, and conservation worldwide at a global stage.

We value diverse abstract submissions that extend beyond traditional scientific papers, including applied research and project reporting.

The conference welcomes a wide range of vulture-related topics, including applied conservation and management practices such as case studies, population monitoring methods, reintroduction programme evaluations, environmental impact assessments, feeding station management guidelines, and more. Abstracts based on implemented projects and initiatives are encouraged, regardless of publication status.

Submit your abstract before the deadline on 15 June 2023.

A trip down memory lane

The first European Vulture Conference took place in the Algarve, Portugal, back in 2019, and it was a success! Over 240 participants joined us in 2019, ranging from scientists to conservationists and the general public. The programme was packed and featured 72 scientific talks, 34 posters, eight symposia, three field trips and five vulture artists.

The European Vulture Conference 2023 is organised by the Vulture Conservation Foundation within the framework of LIFE Aegypius Return. This project, co-funded by the European Union’s Programa LIFE, aims to consolidate and expand the Cinereous Vulture population in Portugal and western Spain.
