Today we focus on Europe\u2019s rarest vulture species, discussing\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/4vultures.org\/pt\/vultures\/bearded-vulture\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bearded Vulture<\/a>\u00a0conservation highlights as well as exciting news.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Achievements and exciting news relating to the Bearded Vulture conservation in 2021:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;background-color: var(--ast-global-color-5)\">VCF started to manage the Guadalent\u00edn captive breeding centre in Cazorla (Spain), the world&#8217;s largest.\u00a0<\/span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/4vultures.org\/pt\/blog\/achieving-a-world-record-guadalentin-centre-in-andalusia-hatched-the-highest-ever-number-of-bearded-vulture-chicks-produced-in-a-single-breeding-season\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">10 Bearded Vulture chicks produced there in 2021<\/a><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;background-color: var(--ast-global-color-5)\">, a new record.<\/span><\/li><li>26 Bearded Vultures hatched within our Bearded Vulture Captive Breeding Network,\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/4vultures.org\/pt\/blog\/in-2021-we-released-24-bearded-vultures-in-europe-as-part-of-reintroduction-and-restocking-projects\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">of which 23 were released into the wild<\/a>: 7 in Andalusia (plus an 8th recovered Pyrenean chick), 5 in Grands Causses, 6 in the Alps (including first-ever release in Germany), 3 in Maestrazgo and 2 in Corsica.<\/li><li>The Bearded Vulture population in Europe continues to expand through reintroduction projects:\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/4vultures.org\/pt\/blog\/in-2021-we-released-24-bearded-vultures-in-europe-as-part-of-reintroduction-and-restocking-projects\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">60+ pairs of wild Bearded Vultures in the Alps fledged 44 young,<\/a> e\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/4vultures.org\/pt\/blog\/bearded-vulture-reintroduction-project-in-andalusia-sees-a-record-number-of-wild-hatched-fledglings\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">7 breeding pairs in Andalusia fledged 3 young<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 both new records.<\/li><li>\u00a0A\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/4vultures.org\/pt\/blog\/overview-of-the-annual-bearded-vulture-meeting-2021\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Annual Bearded Vulture Meeting 2021<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/4vultures.org\/pt\/blog\/overview-of-the-final-life-gypconnect-seminar\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Final LIFE GypConnect Seminar<\/a>\u00a0took place in France, sharing the latest Bearded Vulture conservation and research insights in Europe and elsewhere<\/li><li>A\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/4vultures.org\/pt\/blog\/bearded-vultures-return-to-granada-andalusia-as-a-breeding-species-after-half-a-century-since-their-extinction\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bearded Vulture returned to Granada in Andalusia as a breeding species<\/a>\u00a0after half a century since its extinction.<\/li><li>A new study conducted in Spain\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/4vultures.org\/pt\/blog\/research-review-what-are-the-economic-benefits-of-avian-scavenger-based-tourism-in-spain\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">demonstrated the benefits avian scavengers contribute<\/a>\u00a0to people and the need to balance nature conservation and a sustainable economy.<\/li><li>It has been 30 years since\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/4vultures.org\/pt\/blog\/the-first-bearded-vultures-were-reintroduced-in-the-swiss-alps-30-years-ago-today\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the first Bearded Vultures were reintroduced in the Swiss Alps<\/a>.<\/li><li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/4vultures.org\/pt\/blog\/habitat-modelling-helps-assess-risk-of-wind-farms-for-bearded-vultures-in-the-alps\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Habitat modelling<\/a>\u00a0comprehends the habitat requirements of Bearded Vultures, helping produce maps showing areas with particularly high conflict potential and which should not be used for wind turbines in the Swiss Alps.<\/li><li>Long-term and targeted conservation efforts\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/4vultures.org\/pt\/blog\/vulture-conservation-works-status-of-bearded-vulture-and-egyptian-vulture-in-europe-improves\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">changed the status of the Bearded Vulture in Europe from Vulnerable to Near Threatened,<\/a>\u00a0although the species is declining in certain regions.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Don&#8217;t forget that you can track the movements of the
