Reintroductions started in 1986, and gthe first breeding in the wild occurred 11 years later (1997), and the population has been increasing ever since.<\/p>\n<p> Year after year\u00a0many people, organisations, and\u00a0government agencies\u00a0work together on the different aspects of this project &#8211; from the captive breeding to the releases of young,\u00a0and\u00a0doing the essential\u00a0monitoring of the species in the Alps. The Parco Naturale Alpi Marittime each year publishes a summary newsletter about the project called\u00a0&#8220;Infogipeto&#8221; (in Italian), giving a very good overview what was achieved during the last 12 months. This year they teamed up with Stelvio National Park to produce another issue, full of information and data.
