The yearly meeting of all the vulture conservationists in France – park managers, vulture researchers, project managers, and volunteers, will take place this weekend in Jaujac, in the heart of the Ardèche region, in between the Alps and the Massif Central, organised by the LPO (BirdLife in France) and with the support of the Parc Naturel Régional des Monts d´Ardèche. During 2,5 days several dozen vulture experts will discuss the latest on the vulture conservation situation in France. Four workshops will be organised, on vultures and livestock grazing, on best practice to fight poisoning, about tags to monitor the movements of vultures and on the annual counts of griffon vultures in the Alps.

The VCF will be present and will contribute three talks, on the new projects to conserve the Egyptian vulture in the Douro valley (Portugal-Spain), and to reintroduce black vultures in Bulgaria, and also on the threat of veterinary diclofenac in Europe.
