Vultures are a distinctive, unique and spectacular component of the earth´s biodiversity. They also provide critically important ecosystem services by cleaning up carcasses and other organic waste in the environment: they are nature’s clean-up crew, and this translates into significant economic benefits related to the health of both wild and domestic animals, and to humans.
Vultures merit to be celebrated – and indeed they are so, in many ways and forms. One of them is through drinks – we know several of them, including beers – one celebrating the black vulture in Mallorca, the other bearded vulture Adonis that did a spectacular detour in Romania, and wine, like the cuvee of the gypaète.
