A vulture has been spotted today in central London – in the Vauxhall area. The bird was first spotted by a French birder, and the news is now circulating around the birding networks. This is the first observation of a vulture in London in historical times, and the authorities expect a large crowd to gather to twitch this rarity. This comes only a few weeks after a rare bearded vulture was seen in southwestern England and Wales.
