News on the two captive bred Egyptian vultures released last week in Italy

The two young Egyptian vultures released last week in Puglia – part of an experiment to assess and evaluate methods to improve this potential conservation tool, see here– continued their migration.

Sara is now on the bottom of the “heel of the Italian boot” – south of Lecce – while Agata is in western Sicily, probably considering to do the sea crossing to Tunisia. We will keep you posted!

You can see a short video about the release of the birds below – interestingly, an adult Egyptian vulture came to in investigate them last week soon after they fledged from the hacking platform.
