Travel information

The meeting will take place in the historic town of Morella, renowned for its impressive castle, well-preserved medieval walls, and rich Gothic heritage.

While Morella is accessible via regional transport connections, the most practical way to reach the town is by rental car. The closest town with good train connections to major airports is called Vinaròs.

Closest airports:

  • Valencia Airport (VLC) – approximately 180 km from Morella
A major international airport with frequent European and some intercontinental connections; one of the most convenient options.
  • Zaragoza Airport (ZAZ) – approximately 180 km from Morella
A smaller airport that offers some international connections and can be a good alternative depending on flight availability.
  • Barcelona–El Prat Airport (BCN) – approximately 250 km from Morella
A larger international hub with very good connections to all over the world.

About the International Bearded Vulture Meeting (IBVM)

For decades, the Annual Bearded Vulture Meeting has served as a key platform for partners involved in the reintroduction of the species in the Alps. Over time, it has grown to include projects from across Europe and beyond. The meeting aims to foster exchange on the latest research and conservation actions, share best practices, and discuss results and future directions.

All Bearded Vulture experts and enthusiasts are welcome to take part, contribute their experience, and stay informed about the latest developments in Bearded Vulture conservation.

We look forward to welcoming you to Spain in November 2026.

The meeting is jointly organised by the VCF, Generalitat Valenciana and municipality of Morella.
