A year ago, the city of Cáceres in Spain became the heart of vulture conservation and research, as around 400 experts and enthusiasts from 46 countries gathered for the European Vulture Conference 2023 (EVC 2023).
Held from 14-17 November 2023, this conference highlighted key developments, challenges, and inspiring successes in vulture conservation across Europe and beyond.
The conference featured 200 presentations in a variety of formats, including keynote speeches, standard talks, speed talks, and poster sessions. Discussions spanned crucial topics such as vulture ecology, conservation challenges, habitat management, and innovative solutions to threats like poisoning, collisions with wind turbines, and habitat loss.
